History of the Vermont Healthy Workplace Bill H548 On May 9, 2007 the bill was introduced. It was referred to the COMMITTEE ON GENERAL, HOUSING & MILITARY AFFAIRS. On Oct 20, 2007 Dr. Gary Namie (WBI-LC national director) joined a Town Hall meeting at the Capitol. Commitments to create companion bills in the House and Senate were made by the prime sponsors named below. In January, 2008 when the new legislative session convenes, Vermonters have to convince the lawmakers listed below that the bill is necessary. The bill will give Vermont workers protections now missing, while still protecting good employers who do not need to be abusive to be effective and profitable.
